01

Problem

The goal was to adapt the classic letter grid into a Finnish-first game that works both as a quick solo round and as shared competition.

02

Solution

Sanamahti combines 3 by 3 through 5 by 5 boards, timed word hunts, online and group play, and word definitions in one clear gameplay loop.

03

Implementation

I built the product solo, from interface and game logic to real-time multiplayer, backend services and both app-store releases.

04

Outcome and evolution

The game launched on iOS and Android in February 2024. Development has continued after launch, and Google Play showed at least 500 downloads on 20 July 2026.

Product core

One word game, several ways to play

Solo or together

Solo, head-to-head, group and online modes share the same easy-to-learn word hunt.

Flexible difficulty

Boards scale from 3 by 3 to 5 by 5, making a round either quick or genuinely demanding.

Finnish at the centre

Found words, scoring and definitions turn each game into an exploration of vocabulary too.

Store snapshot

The official store details were checked against the App Store and Google Play.
